How did I manage to be sitting on my bed, holding a very much dead carnation in my palm, looking out the window at the trees and greenery?

Thinking of him brought me there.
I'm not boy crazy, in fact I've actually vowed to stay single for as long as I could. I didn't very much want guys in my life, not after my dad, whose narcissistic ways have brought me to emotional hell more than once.
Not after my brother, who despite that I love him to death, can sometimes manage to break me down more than anyone can.

I've been calling her Vivie for now, but we first saw her earlier tonight just-- literally-- laying down sleeping in front of my dad's car.
When my mom went out to check on it, in case it was hurt-- she jumped up and ran into our yard.
Then when we came home from running an errand, she ran across the driveway and underneath my dad's car.
For about an hour, I tried to coax her out, I gave her some food and water, and made a "bed" (out of a cardboard box, a fleece blanket, and some plastic bags lining the outside of the box in case it rains) hidden in the bushes, with a bowl of food and a bowl of water inside, I put a spotlight on it for a while so Vivie would see it was there.
And get this-- her fur was sleek and smooth, and perfectly neat-- and she was tiny as HELL. Which as my mom said, since she was tiny, but with normal anatomy, she was YOUNG, like, 7 months as most, and she was an indoor cat for a while, never a stray for a long time if her fur was that flawless.
I hope she's gonna be okay.
We aren't gonna keep her, but we have a lot of jackass drivers who would probably run over a cat, and we wanted to make sure she's safe.
I'm going to check up on her in the morning, with some fresh food and water, and see if we can't get her to trust us soon, so we can bring her to a shelter for a loving home, so...... ^^
